April 26, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Grid hosting provider NetLab (netlab.com) announced on Wednesday it has launched its Grid Evaluation Program, a free trial of its grid-based Web hosting service.
The GEP offers businesses and developers an introduction to the AppLogic grid environment and virtual infrastructure. Participants in the free trial have first hand access to the grid environment, and can explore creating, managing and scaling a virtual infrastructure on their own grid.
The GEP offers customers actively seeking an AppLogic solution full access to the AppLogic grid operating system, assistance from an AppLogic expert during the evaluation period and allocation of a private four-server dedicated grid where they can build, deploy and scale infrastructure and applications.
“With utility computing and virtualization taking hold as a viable IT solution, the early adopters stand to benefit the most through dramatic reduction of deployment and management costs and a shorter path to market,” says NetLab CEO, Steve Harwood. “Our Grid Evaluation Program allows those who recognize these advantages an opportunity to see for themselves what can be achieved through virtual infrastructure and a dedicated grid solution.”
NetLab launched its AppLogic-powered grid hosting platform and services earlier this month.
