NetDNA's real-time reporting features graphs for nodes hit and amount transferred
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — CDN provider NetDNA (www.netdna.com) announced on Monday that it has enhanced its customer service features and new pricing for its content delivery services to make them easier to use, more transparent and a lower cost alternative to comparable solutions such as Amazon CloudFront.
According to the press release, NetDNA customer BuySellAds.com, an online ad buying and selling service, switched from Amazon CloudFront to NetDNA because its services enabled more complete file control.
“While initially our decision to switch from Amazon CloudFront to NetDNA was because NetDNA offered better and fairer pricing and more control over our files, over time we have discovered that working with NetDNA means much more than simply cost and control,” Todd Garland, founder of BuySellAds said in a statement. “A relationship with NetDNA is about having a true partner who is responsive and able to support our changing needs as our business grows and develops.”
NetDNA says its pay-as-you-go MaxCDN service for small and medium business customers and its enterprise-class NetDNA service are affected by its price changes.
NetDNA says its services for US and European distribution are priced at six cents per gigabyte for the first 10 terabytes to as low as one cent per gigabyte for users who exceed 5 petabytes.
According to the press release, for Asian distribution the price range is ten cents per gigabyte to 3.2 centers per gigabyte for the same traffic volumes. The pricing includes custom SSL, 24/7 customer service support, no overage penalties, service level agreements and customized service development via an XML API or through the NetDNA service team.
NetDNA says MaxCDN pricing includes an introductory price of $39.95 for the first terabyte of service. After that, prices range from seven cents per gigabyte for the first 10 terabytes to two cents per gigabyte for services more than five petabytes. All of these services are global and feature unlimited zones and shared SSL.
In addition, the company has enhanced its online control panel for both services to provide access to real-time provision services and to cache purge capabilities. Customers can implement new zones or provision new accounts with the tool, as well as provide realtime reporting and analytics on data transfers.
NetDNA is providing plug ins for integration with leading content management and blogging systems inclding Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, SocialEngine, X-Cart and others. NetDNA says Amazon EC2 and S3 services integrate easily with NetDNA as well.
