(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web analytics firm Netcraft (www.netcraft.com) announced on Tuesday that web hosting provider Rackspace (www.rackspace.com) was had the most reliable web hosting company site in October.

According to the report, Rackspace responded to every one of Netcraft’s requests throughout the month.

Rackspace was also the most reliable hosting site in April, according to Netcraft.

Rackspace provides managed and cloud hosting from nine data centers in the US, UK and Hong Kong. Known for its “fanatical support”, Rackspace serves its own website from an F5 BIG-IP device.

Web hosting provider Kattare Internet Services also responded to all requests, according to Netcraft, though it had a slower average connection time than Rackspace. Though Kattare’s primary focus is on Java hosting, it also hosts PHp, Ruby, Perl and Python applications on shared hosting, managed servers and colocated machines in Oregon.

Rounding out the top ten are as follows: Qube Managed Services, ReliableServers.com, Micfo.com, New York Internet, Server Intellect, ServInt, LogicWorks and PoundHost.

Netcraft says seven of October’s top ten hosting company websites used Linux, while the other three used FreeBSD, Windows Server 2008 and F5 BIG-IP.

Netcraft surveys the response times of around forty leading hosting providers’ sites each month. The companies are ranked by fewest failed requests, according to Netcraft.
