August 18, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Pair Networks (pair.com), Kattare.com (katarre.com) and Cee-Kay (cee-kay.net) had the most reliable Web hosting company sites for the month of July, according to research and analysis firm Netcraft (netcraft.com). The three companies shared the top ranking in Netcraft’s July 2004 rankings, all experiencing 0.03 percent failure requests.

Komplex.net (komplex.net), 1&1 (oneandone.com) and Datapipe (datapipe.com) were ranked fourth to sixth. Yahoo (webhosting.yahoo.com), Hostway (hostway.com), Easynet.net (easynet.net) and InetU (inetu.com) rounded out the top 10.

Of the top 10, four ran on the FreeBSD operating system, four on Linux and the other two on Microsoft. Pair runs on FreeBSD.

Netcraft measures the response times of fifty leading Web hosting company sites. The performance measurements are made at 15 minute intervals from four separate points around the Internet and averages are calculated over the immediately preceding 24 hour period.

Last month, Seeweb had the most reliable Web hosting company site, according to Netcraft.
