Netcraft Lists April's Most Reliable Sites

Netcraft's Most Reliable Websites for April 2009.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web analytics firm Netcraft (www.netcraft.com) announced on Tuesday that DataPipe (www.datapipe.net), New York Internet (www.nyi.net), Virtual Internet (www.vi.net) and Hosting 4 Less (www.hosting4less.com) have all tied for the most reliable hosting company sites in April 2009.

This marks the second consecutive four-way tie for most reliable hosting company site. Web hosts Acens, Hosting 4 Less, ReliableServers.com and Swishmail all tied for having the most reliable site for March.

DataPipe has more than 1,500 customers in six data centers and eight business office locations in the United States, the United Kingdom and China.

Established in 1996, New York Internet offers a range of services, including dedicated servers, colocation and virtual web hosting, which are all supported by a near-100 percent uptime guarantee.

Virtual Internet offers managed hosting and dedicated servers running Windows or Linux, as well as domain registration services.

The company’s own website runs on Microsoft IIS 6.0 on Windows Server 2003.

Hosting 4 Less made its second consecutive appearance on Netcraft’s most reliable hosting company sites list.

The web host runs its own site on Linux, offers a near-100 percent uptime guarantee and also operates remote backup solution provider backup4less.com.

Four web hosts of April’s top ten hosting company sites run their sites on Linux, three web hosts run their sites on FreeBSD, and the remaining two companies use Windows Server 2003.

Netcraft measures and posts the response times of the 50 leading web host’s sites.

It makes the performance measurements at 15 minute intervals from separate points around the Internet, then calculates the averages over the immediately preceding 24 hour period.
