NetBenefit Adds New Intel Nehalem Servers

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK managed hosting provider NetBenefit (www.netbenefit.com) announced on Tuesday it has launched its new range of dedicated servers based on Intel’s new Nehalem architecture.

According to the company, the changes in the microarchitecture are the most significant development for Intel since multi processors were introduced in 1995.

Thew new line of dedicated servers will offer NetBenefit customers increased performance over its previous Intel 5400 series-based dedicated servers.

The launch enhances the company’s existing portfolio of managed hosting and virtualization solutions with dedicated servers ranging from the R410 through to the R710. The new line also introduces a server optimized for highly resilient database cluster solutions.

“Thanks to the advantages Dell has introduced with the latest Xeon 5500 series,” says NetBenefit CTO Gerry Lawrence. “The servers not only provide our customers with significantly faster processing speeds but also go a long way to achieving the energy efficiency that all technology companies are striving to achieve — increased power efficiency and smaller carbon footprints.”

NetBenefit’s range of new energy efficient, dedicated servers are based on Intel’s Nehalem microarchitecture, and include the latest 5500 series CPUs with Turbo and Hyper-threading technology.

The servers feature 15000rpm SAS disks and 1066MHz registered memory modules.

The new range of servers is just one of the many new solutions that NetBenefit is bringing to market this year.

Other web hosting provides have also released their own line of dedicated servers based on Intel’s Nehalem architecture this year, including SoftLayer and The Planet.
