Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

June 17, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- According to data published by research and analysis firm Netcraft (netcraft.com), domain registrar Network Solutions (networksolutions.com) recorded a net gain of 15,766 domains last month. The number was the fourteenth highest out of the more than 1,500 services providers surveyed. Netcraft's data also showed that Network Solutions added a total of 60,000 domains in May, trailing only Go Daddy (godaddy.com), 1&1 Internet (oneandone.com), Tect Ag (tect.de) and eNom (enom.com) in that category.

According to Netcraft, the figures mark a significant turnaround from the last two years, during which Network Solutions consistently lost market share amid dropping prices and floundering customer service levels.

Network Solutions charges $34.99 a year for a domain name, several times higher than the average industry price. Network Solutions, according to Netcraft, has been able to overcome its higher prices by attracting customers who value the company's stability and reliability.

Last November, VeriSign sold Network Solutions to Pivotal Private Equity for $100 million.
