Neptuny Joins VMware Technology Alliance

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Performance optimization and capacity planning solutions provider Neptuny (www.neptuny.it) has joined the VMware Technology Alliance Partner Program, which gives independent software vendors a set of technical and marketing services, tools and expertise to work collaboratively to deliver enhanced value to shared customers.

Neptuny’s flagship product, CaplanTM, provides capacity planning for large data centers and also for virtualized environments, which are based on both VMware ESX and other major virtualization technologies. As a member of the Technology Alliance Partner Program, Neptuny can better support CaplanTM customers implementing capacity planning for virtual environments, according to the company’s Wednesday announcement.

“This new alliance completes our wider strategy which is to continue to broaden our technology partner network, which already includes HP, IBM and Red Hat and other leading vendors” Neptuny chief executive officer Fabio Violante said in a statement.

CaplanTM lets customers identify the best areas for consolidation, then chooses the best target servers and assigns the appropriate resources. Its proactive approach also protects the consolidated infrastructure over time by automatically detecting forecasted capacity issues. CaplanTM helps users plan their infrastructure consolidation for environments based on (even heterogeneous) virtualization technologies.

Neptuny is also a member of TSANet (www.tsanet.org), a worldwide, vendor-neutral system that provides the legal framework for a multi-vendor support when incidents happen. TSANet allows partners to have a common entry point when contacting partners’ support centers in multi-vendor support incidents. Neptuny also guarantees support for its products including VMware virtual environments, without requiring eventual issues to be first reproduced on native hardware.
