April 7, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center automation software provider BladeLogic (bladelogic.com) announced on Monday that managed hosting provider NaviSite (navisite.com) has selected BladeLogic’s suite of data center automation software solutions to enhance the management processes for thousands of servers in its global data centers.
Before selecting BladeLogic, NaviSite used a script-based approach to manage its server and application infrastructure. Using BladeLogic’s data center automation software solutions, NaviSite can further enhance its data center operations by fully automating the entire lifecycle of its data center management processes. This includes provisioning, patching, compliance and day-to-day server and application configuration management.
“NaviSite is committed to providing outstanding IT hosting, outsourcing and professional services that leverage a proven set of technologies and extensive subject matter expertise,” says Jay Keating, VP of managed service delivery for NaviSite. “After a thorough review of the leading automation software products available on the market, we chose BladeLogic as our data center automation platform due to the breadth of its solutions and the clear technical advantage they provide, particularly around audit and compliance.”
BladeLogic was recently acquired by enterprise software provider BMC Software last month for approximately $800 million. The data center automation software provider has seen tremendous growth since its 2001 launch. With more than 70 customers, BladeLogic is expected to deliver $90 million in revenue for fiscal 2008, according to global market intelligence firm International Data Corporation.
NaviSite says it provides customized and scalable application solutions and hosting services from 18 state-of-the art data centers supported by more than 700 professionals.
