September 19, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider NaviSite (navisite.com) announced on Friday it has unveiled AppStructure, its new dynamic application infrastructure platform.

AppStructure integrates the information technologies of virtualization, social networking and service-oriented architecture into a comprehensive and highly adaptive solution that enables enterprises to adapt their technology environment to meet changing business needs.

The solution is designed to eliminate the boundaries between infrastructure, applications and services so that businesses can rapidly scale to meet time-sensitive demands, deliver software to end-users, and create real-time integration with customers and partners.

“With a product portfolio of managed services and application solutions like no other in the industry,” says Denis Martin, executive vice president and chief technology officer at NaviSite. “NaviSite is in an extraordinary position to offer AppStructure as an innovative solution — uniting three leading technologies that deliver new functionality, create tighter integration, and automate workflows, while significantly improving business performance.”

NaviSite says the AppStructure platform is ideal for “organizations with seasonal computing fluctuations, or startups with unanticipated growth requirements,” enabling users to virtualize computing resources including servers, storage and networking.

The solution is completely scalable and can be deployed faster than a dedicated server environment, says NaviSite.

The platform can help increase business productivity by meeting their customers’ changing requirements within each technology tier, delivering it within a single interface.

Data center and managed services provider CBTS, a division of Ohio-based telecommunications provider Cincinnati Bell, launched its own utility computing service on Friday to help customers provision and manage virtual Windows and Linux servers in a cloud computing environment.

Earlier this week NaviSite announced it would provide not-for-profit research organization Analytic Services with managed application solutions for Analytic Services’ business and its operating units of ANSER and the Homeland Security Institute.
