(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider NaviSite (www.navisite.com) announced on Monday that is offering cloud-based managed infrastructure, applications, and messaging services for enterprise customers in North America.
The announcement comes a week after NaviSite joined the Cloud Security Alliance as a corporate sponsor member in an effort to establish and promote best practices for security in cloud computing.
NaviSite’s cloud-based services are offered with guaranteed infrastructure and application SLAs, predictable usage-based pricing, multi-pronged auditable security model, management interface for visibility, control and user administration, fully customized, high touch solutions, are delivered on the enterprise-class, highly available, scalable and secure application-focused NaviCloud platform.
The company says its cloud-based services division will have more than 300 business applications experts on staff who understand the complexities of managing and running business applications.
The initial set of NaviSite cloud-based services include NaviCloud managed infrastructure services, NaviCloud managed application services, and NaviCloud managed messaging services.
The NaviCloud platform is an on-demand, flexible and customizable infrastructure-as-a-service platform with the scale, performance and security to handle enterprise-wide applications.
The platform is based on VMware vSphere 4 and is deployed on the Cisco Unified Computing System, with high-performance IBM XiV SAN as well as multi-pronged security approach.
The company is currently offering NaviCloud managed hosting and applications services on a limited basis in North America, while offering general availability in North America on June 1.
NaviSite’s managed messaging services will also be available in June, while its London data center will be fully cloud-enabled by September.
