February 7, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web hosting provider NaviSite (navisite.com) announced on Tuesday it will provide managed services, off-site disaster recovery and business continuity planning for clinical information system provider eClinicalWorks (eclinicalworks.com).
NaviSite will design, build and manage eClinicalWorks’ eClinicalWeb application service provider infrastructure and the eClinicalWeb patient portal. The ASP gives physician practices full access to the company’s unified solution for practice management, electronic medical records and document management. The patient portal enables patients and doctors to communicate safely and securely online.
NaviSite worked with eClinicalWorks to custom-fit a managed service offering for its specific hardware needs. EClinincalWorks will house its data in NaviSite’s data centers and maintain a managed disaster recovery and business continuity planning solution but will maintain complete control and flexibility of its infrastructure.
“We primarily chose to work with NaviSite because of its highly regarded reputation within the industry,” says Girish Kumar Navani, VP of sales and marketing at eClinicalWorks. “NaviSite has partnered with us to customize a solution for the eClinicalWeb ASP and Patient Portal, which set them apart from the competition in our evaluation process.”
Also on Tuesday, it was reported that NaviSite had deployed an automated sales compensation system from software developer Centive.
