NaviSite Awarded GSA Contract for Managed Hosting

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider NaviSite (www.navisite.com) announced on Tuesday it has received a General Services Administration (www.gsa.gov) schedule contract where it will sell a full range of managed hosting and infrastructure services to US federal government agencies and all branches of the military.

The deal expands on its existing relationship with the GSA, having been the approved GSA contractor for application hosting and CDN solutions since 2006.

The GSA is an independent agency established by the US Government to help manage and support the basic functioning of federal agencies.

GSA awards long term contracts to businesses, giving them the opportunity to sell their products and services to government agencies.

NaviSite beat out several competitors for the contract after a lengthy qualification process that included a review of company financials, details on service offerings, pricing, and customer information, along with past and projected sales figures for the managed hosting portfolio.

Under the contract, government agencies and military branches have streamlined, single-point access to NaviSite’s managed hosting portfolio, which includes infrastructure hosting and management, routine administration, and support services for running their IT systems.

“The new GSA contract is a significant milestone for NaviSite as it allows us to extend the benefits of our enterprise class infrastructure solutions to government clients,” says Brooks Borcherding, chief revenue officer at NaviSite. “We are very excited to tap the new growth opportunities in the public sector that will further accelerate our leading position in the hosting market.”

NaviSite offers a range of managed hosting solutions including server management, virtualization, disaster recovery, remote monitoring, network and security services.
