NaviSite Adds New Charlotte Data Center

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider NaviSite (www.navisite.com) announced on Thursday it has added a new data center located southwest of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina.

The location is ideal, being just a few miles from the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, making the site accessible. It is also located outside the area of risk from flooding, seismic activity, and hurricanes, providing a safe environment to customers for both production and disaster recovery.

NaviSite’s new data center lets the company meet increasing hosting demands of both existing and new customers in the southeastern region of the United States.

The data center meets strict standards and offers best in class specifications in space, redundancy, connectivity, cooling, and security.

Power and HVAC systems are equipped with full redundancy and are expandable for higher density installations.

The facility features UPS systems and generator backup systems equipped with N+2 redundancies, ensuring uninterrupted power and availability for the data center.

All the systems are monitored 24 hours to deliver greater reliability and improved power efficiency.

“Our extensive, enterprise class data center network is the mainstay of our business. We continue to experience increasing demand for our innovative cloud based enterprise hosting and application offerings,” says R. Brooks Borcherding, chief revenue officer at NaviSite. “The Charlotte data center extends our presence into the southeastern region and offers our customers another option for the provisioning of our suite of hosting solutions.”

NaviSite operates 16 data centers across the US and UK, a total of 223,000 square feet, where it provides managed hosting and application services.
