All of the NaviCloud management capabilities provided by AppCenter (shown above) can now be accessed using an iPad, according to NaviSite.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hosting, managed application, managed messaging and managed cloud services provider NaviSite (www.navisite.com) has added Apple iPad support for the NaviCloud AppCenter management console, giving IT organizations a portable window into their cloud operations.
According to NaviSite’s Monday announcement, IT organizations can easily provision and manage NaviCloud resources using an iPad from anywhere at any time, giving them and their business greater agility.
NaviSite’s AppCenter is a Web-based console for creating, managing, and monitoring resources on the NaviCloud platform. It is designed to provide an intuitive interface for customers to configure, modify, decommission, and even clone resources through drop-down menus and simple point-and-click operations.
NaviSite chief technology officer Denis Martin said that all of AppCenter’s capabilities can now be accessed using an iPad. “They can create, monitor, and manage their cloud-based IT environments from anywhere – even on a plane at 30,000 feet,” Martin said.
NaviSite will be exhibiting at Gartner Symposium and ITxpo in Orlando from October 17 to 21, 2010, where it will be demonstrating the NaviCloud AppCenter management console for iPad.
Last week, NaviSite appointed the company’s former managed services vice president Allen Allison to the newly created position of chief security officer, marking the third major appointment NaviSite has announced in the past couple months.
