The price is available for at least the next year and comes with a free month of Bronze package Web hosting, valued at $4.95 per month.

Benjamin Kerensa, COO for NationHosts, says the company is responding to the needs of its customers, many of whom have signed up for cheap domain registration services only to receive substandard customer service. Their experiences led them to push NationHosts to offer domain registration services. Kerensa says NationHosts “wanted to better our reputation by beating their support and service while offering equally competitive prices.”

NationHosts is partnering with domain registrar Directi (directi.com), reselling its domain names. Directi is selling the domains to NationHosts for $6.49, translating into a $1.50 loss per domain. Kerensa said it is incurring the losses in exchange for the extra traffic and customers it receives in return.

Prices for domain names continue to drop. Globat recently began offering domains for $3.99 and 1&1 is offering a special introductory price of $2.99 per domain as part of its US launch.
