Mzima To Connect Corelink Facilities

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation, enterprise hosting and data center services provider Corelink Data Centers (www.corelink.com) has chosen network service provider Mzima Networks (www.mzima.net) to provide direct, dedicated connectivity between its Phoenix, Las Vegas and Seattle facilities with a high-performance transport network, as well as provide quality IP transit to Corelink’s high-bandwidth customers.

According to Mzima Networks’ Tuesday announcement, Corelink customers will have access to Mzima’s extended, reliable capacity and disaster recovery options, as well as its fault-tolerant, global backbone network that delivers IP transit, Ethernet private lines and Metro Wavelength services.

“In order to further support the growing bandwidth and disaster recovery needs of our customers, we required a network provider that could offer flexible and quality IP backbone connectivity.” Corelink Data Centers chief executive officer Geoff Hampson said in a statement, “Mzima’s 10 Gigabit Ethernet backbone, with the ability to handle over 1 Tbps of capacity, offers our customers the highest levels of reliability and value.”

Mzima’s bandwidth and transport services are a reliable solution for Corelink customers seeking disaster recovery and backup solutions between several cities, as well as for customers that intend to stream video to end users in multiple locations from Corelink facilities in Mzima’s ubiquitous network, which leverages more than 500 peering relationships spanning more than 90 countries across the globe.

Mzima chief technology officer Grant Kirkwood said the company is proud of its partnership with Corelink, the latest company to use its IP transit and disaster recovery solutions to its customers.

“We have built an Ethernet-based optical network infrastructure that selects the best available route option in each market, to deliver bandwidth-intensive content through the quickest route available, resulting in lower latency and a high performance network that is engineered for quality sensitive services and applications,” Kirkwood said in a statement.

More than two years ago, Mzima was able to triple the capacity and connectivity of managed services provider Cyber-Logics’ (www.cyber-logics.com) Secaucus, New Jersey data centers.
