muvee Selects Limelight as CDN

January 15, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Content delivery network provider Limelight Networks (llnw.com) announced on Monday that Singaporean automatic video editing technology provider muvee (muvee.com) has selected Limelight Networks as the global content delivery platform for its recently launched online video mashup service at muveeMix.com.

The new online video mixing service enables users to automatically mix video clips and pictures to their choice of music, adding visual effects and transitions that are synchronized to the beat. The finished ‘muvees’ can then be shared on community sites or blogs. Limelight Networks is also the CDN for muvee’s autoProducer automatic video editing software, which is featured on the muvee Web site.

Optimized for high-performance delivery of rich media, Limelight Networks enables muvee to quickly and reliably respond to high user demand for its software and new online video mixing service as consumers embrace its innovative new video technology. In December 2006, Limelight Networks opened an Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore to serve its rapidly expanding regional customer base.

“muvee is empowering this important demographic group with professional quality, inexpensive tools that encourage creative expression and help consumers to share their digital creations with the world,” says Matthew H. Sturgess, VP of the Asia-Pacific region for Limelight Networks. “We are delighted that Limelight Networks has been chosen by muvee to deliver their award winning software and innovative technologies to consumers.”
