MSPAlliance Summit Hits Chicago

September 24, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — The 2008 MSPAlliance Managed Services Summit – Chicago will kick off Thursday at Chicago’s Navy Pier, bringing together managed service providers, value-added resellers, system integrators, IT solution providers, and technology enabling vendors.

Held September 25 to 26, the MSPAlliance Managed Services Summit events provide a platform for education, networking and strategic business planning.

Attendees will be able to sit in on policy-setting sessions conducted by the MSP and Vendor Advisory Boards, which make collaborative efforts to set policy, standards and best practices for the managed services industry.

According to the MSPAlliance, these events combine business educational content along technical training sessions, including policy setting sessions, business sessions, technical training sessions, networking, and strategic business planning.

Day one will feature an opening keynote presentation by Charles Weaver, MSPAlliance co-founder and president, who will discuss the current conditions of the managed services market in his presentation,  “Managed Services: State of the Industry.”

Other sessions throughout the day will span a range of topics, including “Next Generation of PC Managed Services Technologies,” “Vertical Marketing Strategies for MSPs,” “Protecting Your Managed Services Practice:  Are You at Risk?” “Cloud Computing and Managed Services:  What?s in a Name?”

Day two will bring an opening keynote delivered by Greg Donovan, the president and CEO of Alpheon. Other sessions that morning will include “Managed Services Pricing Strategies:  Is Your Price Right?” “Managed Security Made Simple,” and “Simplify Your Managed Services Business.”

Although online registration is now closed, interested participants can register onsite on Thursday and Friday, pending on availability.

Registration fee for the event is $95 for MSPAlliance members, and $195 for non MSPAlliance members, which also includes a one year membership.

Sponsored by giants Intel and Microsoft, among others, the MSPAlliance Managed Services Summit previously held events in Atlanta and Boston. The MSPAlliance Managed Services Summit will head overseas next to London, UK on October 17, before concluding the event tour in Las Vegas on November 5 to 6.

The MSPAlliance is the world ‘s largest professional association and accrediting body for the managed services industry. The organization ensures that all members adhere to a strict code of ethics.

In July, the MSPAlliance launched a “Hardware as a Service” program for MSPs, allowing them to deliver both hardware and services-based solutions to clients while keeping capital costs down.
