MSPAlliance Issues First MSP Certifications

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — The international association of managed service providers, MSPAlliance (www.mspalliance.com), announced on Monday the first group of individuals to pass the Certified Managed Services Professional exam.

The organization first announced in March that it would offer a certification standard for individuals in the managed IT services industry seeking to demonstrate high levels of professionalism and accountability in their careers.

The 15 individuals who were the first to take the CMSP exam on April 30 have passed the written exam and have met the educational and work experience criteria needed to become a certified managed services professional.

“These 15 individuals are the first in a long line of individuals who will become true leaders of a campaign to make the managed services into a true profession,” says Charles Weaver, president of MSPAlliance. “The Certified Managed Services Professional exam is a high standard and one that will ultimately help to differentiate those who are serious about managed services.”

The CMSP exam includes a written test as well as a minimum IT education or relevant work experience requirement.

Additionally, individuals must show they have sufficient knowledge of a wide range of managed services business and technical information, including the MSP’s code of ethics and conduct.

More details about the CMSP exam can be found on the MSPAlliance website here.

Comprised of more than 8,000 MSPs and service enabling technology vendors, the MSPAlliance works to define, promote and educate the managed services industry and the end-user consumer on the adoption and use of managed services technology.
