September 23, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Motorola Networks (motorola.com) announced earlier this week that it had launched Motorola Application Hosting Services, a hosted application management and delivery solution for mobile network operators and mobile virtual network operators.
Motorola says the service enables operators to cost-effectively launch new subscriber offerings from a single point of access, and manage and deliver those applications. This will reduce capital investment and technical complexity, while accelerating time to market, the company says.
Motorola Applications Hosting Services has teamed with End2End (end2endmobile.com), a managed solution provider for mobile data and services, to provide the applications hosting party of the offering.
“All carriers are continually in search of that next great offering that will drive more subscribers to their network and also increase customer loyalty and revenue. Motorola Applications Hosting Services offers carriers a seamless path through that process and a straighter line to increased return on investment, all with reduced complexity and a lower upfront capital investment,” says Sri Kannankote, vice president of network services and applications management for Motorola. “Our proposition to operators is simple: focus on your subscribers’ wants and needs and let us manage the technical and logistical process of fulfilling them.”
