Rackspace says it is offering hosting on Windows Server 2008 Standard, Enterprise and Web editions. Meanwhile, Hostway has launched a special promotion that offers customers free setup on all new Dell PowerEdge servers equipped with Windows Server 2008 when they order through March 31, as well as a lifetime discount of 10 percent off the monthly fees.
Windows Server 2008 enables customers to deliver rich Web-based experiences efficiently and effectively, with enhanced administration and diagnostics, development and application tools and lower infrastructure costs. The new Internet Information Services 7.0 offers a more secure and streamlined Web platform for customers by enabling them to customize their Web servers to configure only the server roles and modules needed.
Yesterday, Web hosting providers Attenda Limited, CrystalTech Web Hosting, SoftLayer, Go Daddy and Verizon Business also announced they are offering support for Windows Server 2008.
