Mineweb Improves with Rackspace

September 10, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Financial and corporate mining news site Mineweb (mineweb.com) announced on Monday thatĀ its South Africa-based holding company Moneyweb Holdings (moneyweb.co.za) has reported an improvement in user experience after switching its hosting to UK managed hosting provider Rackspace Managed Hosting (rackspace.co.uk) five months ago.

Moneyweb says Mineweb.com had previously operated with a hybrid hosting solution between Cape Town, South Africa and the UK but after a recommendation from the site development partner, Moneyweb signed up with Rackspace. The Web site is now administered in the UK and physically hosted in Dallas, Texas.

Moneyweb’s project manager Hilton Tarrant says the new setup is less costly and offers greater value for the money. He also says one of the most valuable aspects of moving its Web site to Rackspace is the dramatic improvement in user experience.

“We have had huge feedback on the design, look and feel and the speed of the site,” says Tarrant. “It loads exceptionally quickly and is proving highly reliable. Since it went live with Rackspace five months ago, the site has never been down. The Rackspace solution is simply incomparable to what existed before.”

Last week, Hybris selected Rackspace to deliver hosting for its e-commerce solutions.
