March 3, 2009 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Houston-based cloud software developer Mezeo Software (www.mezeo.com) has named hosting industry veteran Gray Hall chairman of its board of directors.

According to Mezeo’s Tuesday announcement, Hall will be leaving his post as executive-in-residence at Fidelity Equity Partners. Prior to joining the international private equity firm, Hall co-founded VeriCenter in 1999 and served as its president and chief executive officer until its sale to SunGard Data Systems in 2007, following 28 consecutive quarters of growth amounting to $80 million in annual hosting revenue.
Hall said he is pleased to be joining Mezeo at such an exciting period. “The quality of Mezeo’s software platform is first rate and their strategy to target the IT hosting space with multiple cloud storage solutions, is very timely,” Hall said in a statement. “Leading IT service providers are making strategic cloud storage decisions now and Mezeo’s deployable cloud storage platform provides options and capabilities that previously were not available to the industry.”
Mezeo entered the cloud storage market in October 2008 with premier hosting partner SoftLayer (www.softlayer.com). Mezeo offers a number of ready-to-deploy solutions including its Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform for deploying a Web services API based cloud storage offering, its Mezeo Access Cloud Storage for dedicated hosting and virtual hosting customer managed services file storage, its Mezeo SaaS Cloud Storage that integrates easily into Software-as-a-Service platforms, and its white-label Mezeo Personal Cloud Storage.
Mezeo reports that SoftLayer will begin offering new solutions based on the Mezeo platform this month. Mezeo’s cloud storage solutions are also available from SoftLayer resellers.
