(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud storage firm Mezeo Software (www.mezeo.com) has announced the general availability of the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform 3.0, which includes the Mezeo Interoperability API that promises seamless interoperability of applications developed for Amazon S3, Google and Eucalyptus-based storage clouds.
According to Mezeo’s Monday announcement, the latest Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform and the Mezeo Interoperability API gives developers greater flexibility when utilizing storage clouds. Mezeo has also extended the Mezeo Cloud Storage API to include namespace access, which simplifies the use of the existing Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform API for applications that rely on path-based naming as opposed to object storage unique identifiers, enabling the use of multiple APIs to access the same stored content.
“The Mezeo architecture provides for rapid development and deployment of REST Web Services APIs and additional APIs as the market demands them,” Mezeo president and chief executive officer Steve Lesem said in a statement. “This announcement is all about providing even more flexibility for our Mezeo Ready Premier Hosting Providers, their customers and developers, as well as our Mezeo Ready Solution Providers. The Mezeo Interoperability API enables developers to create a single integration to multiple storage clouds. At a business level, this translates into more flexibility, more functionality and more options.”
Mezeo Ready Premier Hosting Partners are expected to support the Mezeo Interoperability API as they roll out the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform 3.0 during the next few months.
Designed to make it easier for customers and service providers to find and deploy solutions that meet their particular business needs, the Mezeo Ready Program comprises a community of a wide-range of service providers, developers, cloud gateway providers and technology partners all focused on delivering Mezeo-enabled cloud storage solutions. Lesem discussed what Mezeo offers service providers in a recent WHIR TV interview.
To further drive the development of cloud storage, Mezeo opened the Mezeo Ready Developer Center (developer.mezeo.com) in June as a repository of information and resources for developers using Mezeo APIs.
In addition to the compatibility APIs, Mezeo’s latest platform features end-to-end encryption, advanced file sharing and collaboration, and content tagging.
