(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Switch and Data (www.switchanddata.com) announced on Monday that meet-me-rooms network provider Metcom Network Services (www.metcomnet.com) has established a presence in the meet-me-rooms of Switch and Data’s 60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue sites in New York.
The announcement follows Switch and Data’s deal last month with market trading information solutions provider QuantHouse, where the company expanded its operations with Switch and Data at its New York facility.
The agreement is mutually beneficial for the two companies, providing greater flexibility, speed and lower cost for their customers.
The deal expands New York Metro market network interconnection choice for customers in Switch and Data’s 60 Hudson, 111 8th Ave. and North Bergen, New Jersey sites as well as for carriers on the MNS Meet-Me Network.
Switch and Data customers will now have access to an additional 100 available network service providers, bringing the total number to 400.
MNS provides a range of carrier grade facilities and services, including ANSI and CCITT carrier local loop services, colocation space, protocol conversions, engineering services and the technical expertise to access and activate new facilities.
Switch and Data provides Layer-1 and Layer-2 connectivity between the 60 Hudson Street and 111 Eighth Avenue carrier hotels, which are also interconnected with the company’s new 165,000 square foot site in North Bergen.

This agreement also gives our customers a more comprehensive and cost-effective solution to reach networks outside Switch and Data’s suites, across the New York Metro region.”
Switch and Data operates 34 sites in the US and Canada.
