Runa Capital managing partner Dmitry Chikhachev delivering his persentation
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In the second session of the Your Ecosystem track, Runa Capital managing partner Dmitry Chikhachev discussed the up-and-coming Russian tech start-ups.
Titled “Meet the rising stars of the hosting industry with Runa Capital”, the presentation was really just an overview of the venture capital firm’s portfolio of companies.
According to its website, Runa makes “early stage investments in Internet, Cloud Computing and Mobile Applications… [working] with Russian-speaking teams located in Russia and virtually any other place in the world.” The company was founded by Serguei Beloussov, which is, of course, Parallels’ founder/executive chairman of the board.
He started with a brief introduction on Runa Capital before introducing four companies in its portfolio, which include web server NGINX, PaaS developer Jelastic, online storefront builder ecwid, and anti-virus solutions provider StopTheHacker.
Representatives from all four companies delivered brief sales pitches for their respective services. Of the four companies, Ecwid stood out as being the only platform-neutral shopping cart available on the market, which enables service providers to reduce reliance on conversions to stand-alone ecommerce solutions as an add on to their existing portfolio of services.
The e-commerce widget seamlessly integrates with an existing website, including social media networks. Ecwid’s API allows deep integration with any hosting solutions, site builders and CMS systems.
Chikhachev closed the presentation with an announcement that all of Runa’s startups are currently hiring.
