Media Lab Launches SiteGrinder-Optimized Hosting Powered by UK2 Group

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Interactive Photoshop tools developer Media Lab (www.medialab.com) has announced a partnership with Web hosting firm UK2 Group (www.uk2group.com) to provide an optimized hosting solution to users of Media Lab’s Photoshop plug-in SiteGrinder, which converts layered Photoshop designs into standard finished websites.

According to Media Lab’s Wednesday announcement, those using the SiteGrinder plug-in will have access to hosting specifically optimized for this tool, and provide a complete solution from the initial Web design in Photoshop all the way to deployment of the site.

“We have years of experience, best of breed technology, world-class support and state of the art data centers to bring SiteGrinder 3 users the very best that hosting has to offer,” UK2 Group US operations president and chief operating officer Jeff Hunsaker said in a statement. “Our MidPhase brand hosting integration with SiteGrinder 3 is just one of many opportunities we envision with our Media Lab partnership.”

SiteGrinder 3 lets graphic designers, photographers, and artists easily transform their Photoshop designs into CSS and XHTML standards-compliant websites without writing a single line of code. To improve work flow for developers, all code generated by SiteGrinder 3 is fully editable in Dreamweaver or any other CSS or HTML editor.

SiteGrinder 3 hosting will be managed by MidPhase (www.midphase.com), one of UK2 Group’s 13 brands, and will feature MidPhase technical support staff, which can be reached by phone, live chat, or email 24×7.

According to the Media Lab, hosting plans start at $6.95 per month on a two-year contract, with six free months included. These plans feature unlimited storage, bandwidth, mySQL databases, and email accounts, as well as domain add-ons.

“UK2 Group’s international reach, superior support and uptime record was Media Lab’s best choice for providing SiteGrinder 3 designers/developers an optimized hosting solution,” Media Lab COO Michael D. Nelson said in a statement. “Although SiteGrinder 3 can be used with any hosting service, we felt it was important to develop a close relationship with a flexible hosting partner that would enhance the website deployment and management experience specifically for SiteGrinder 3 users.”
