MCI Acquires Totality Corporation

August 2, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet services and Web hosting provider MCI (mci.com) announced on Tuesday that it had reached an agreement to acquire Totality Corporation, a provider of remote managed services for business applications and data center infrastructures. Financial terms of the deal, expected to close within 45 days, were not disclosed.

The company says the acquisition augments the application management capabilities within its Enterprise hosting business by extending them outside of data center facilities managed by MCI, and enabling the company to manage and monitor applications regardless of where they are hosted.

“With this acquisition, MCI is able to combine its core hosting capabilities with proven expertise in the applications management space, further accelerating its ability to keep pace with enterprise and business customers as they transition to IP,” says Jonathan Crane, MCI executive vice president and chief strategy officer. “This combination will enable MCI to deliver more fully integrated communications services to customers, while better supporting their advanced IP and complex IT requirements.”
