MaximumASP Picks TippingPoint Security

May 26, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — TippingPoint (tippingpoint.com), a division of 3Com and intrusion prevention provider, announced on Wednesday that Web host MaximumASP (maximumasp.com) has selected the TippingPoint 5000E Intrusion Prevention System.

After an extensive two-month evaluation period involving intrusion prevention systems from multiple vendors, MaximumASP selected the TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System to protect its internal network and provide secure hosting services to its customers.

“The TippingPoint IPS was the only product tested that could provide the required performance to protect our network from worms, viruses, denial of service attacks and application attacks,” says Silas Boyle, partner at MaximumASP. “A superior product combined with TippingPoint’s Digital Vaccine update service made this an easy choice. Out of all products tested, no signature and rule update service even compared to Digital Vaccine.”

During the evaluation period, MaximumASP worked closely with Lexington, Kentucky-based Systems Design Group. After the evaluation process, MaximumASP selected the TippingPoint 5000E.
