(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Canadian managed IT and infrastructure services provider Fusepoint Managed Services (www.fusepoint.com) has announced it has ended the 2009 fiscal year with $47.3 million in revenue, and also experienced 40 percent earnings growth before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization in its 10th year in business.
According to its Tuesday announcement, Fusepoint has made significant investments over the past year in its facilities’ power and cooling capabilities as well as investing in data center management technology such as HP’s provisioning, configuration and management software Opsware. Fusepoint continues to realize improved economies of scale from its business model, translating into meaningful earnings growth.
Fusepoint also marked its 10th anniversary by announcing its successful completion of its third annual Tier 1 Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard certification, a data protection standard created by the payment card industry to ensure cardholder information security wherever it resides.
PCI DSS applies to organizations that store, process or transmit cardholder information, and outlines steps that merchants and service providers must take to achieve compliance. Fusepoint is sponsoring the webinar, “PCI/DSS Compliance in the Hosting Industry,” which will be held this afternoon and moderated by the WHIR’s Liam Eagle. The webinar, which is happening Tuesday, February 16, 2010, from 2 to 3pm EST, will feature panelists from Miva Merchant, Pinnacle Cart, and MaximumASP.
In addition, Fusepoint most recently achieved its annual audits for CICA 5970 and SAS70 Type II for the fiscal year 2010, as well as Microsoft’s Gold Hosting Competency, maintaining its leadership as one of the most certified managed hosts in Canada.
“As the managed services provider to some of the country’s most recognized brands, we continually listen to our clients evolving needs and seek innovative solutions as well as certifications to differentiate our breadth of offering from other providers,” Fusepoint president and chief executive officer George Kerns said in a statement. “As cloud computing continues to make in-roads in enterprise IT, Fusepoint is positioning to provide a higher level of private cloud hosting to complement our traditional managed services offering.”
Looking forward, Fusepoint, which is currently a VMware (www.vmware.com) Authorized Hosting provider, plans to expand its managed private cloud hosting solutions by incorporating VMware’s vSphere platform as well as introducing support for Microsoft’s virtualization product, Hyper-V.
