The Manchester City Football Club website is one of the Sitecore projects highlighted on the company's website.
Content management software builder Sitecore announced late last week that managed hosting provider Tenzing had joined its partner program in order to offer its content management and marketing tools to Tenzing’s e-commerce customers.
For web hosting providers, specializing in a particular set of customer requirements can be an excellent means of distinguishing a company’s services from those of similar service providers. According to the press release, Tenzing speciliazes in delivering hosting services to companies in the e-commerce space.
Tenzing says its specialization in e-commerce involves, among other things, specialization in a set of platforms and tools that includes Oracle ATG Web Commerce, IBM Web Commerce, Intershop, Magento and Hybris. The company also offers managed PCI compliance services, along with PCI compliant hosting services of its own.
In October, Tenzing announced that it had launched a service designed to help customers protect their sites against DDoS attacks.
“At Tenzing, we understand how critical it is for our e-commerce clients to deliver an exceptional online customer experience and that’s why we have partnered with Sitecore, an industry leader in this arena,” says Brian Shepard, founder and CEO of Tenzing, quoted in the press release. “By partnering with Sitecore, we can offer additional value to our e-commerce clients by delivering a leading web content management and customer experience management software platform to help to attract new visitors to their sites, optimize conversion rates, and keep customers coming back for more.”
The content management system is an integral part of many hosting services, and the Sitecore offering is a high-end tool, based on the .NET environment, that ties together a long list of functions and modules, and emphasizes e-commerce and integrating marketing activities into the website. Its digital marketing system includes functions like analytics, automation, email campaign management, and a customer engagement platform.
“Building a secure e-commerce environment is a critical aspect of delivering a positive customer experience,” says Russ Emerson, director of field marketing at Sitecore, also quoted in the press release. “We look forward to working with the Tenzing team as they bring a depth of experience and expertise in delivering and fully managing high-performance, e-commerce hosting solutions.”
