ProperHost, a web host specializing in Magento hosting, announced on Monday that it has increased its affiliate commission payouts of its Hosting Affiliate Program, and has launched its Channel Partner Program.

The affiliate program is free to join, and offers four different tiers of commission rates depending on sales generated. For example, the first tier (1-5 sales) pays 50 percent commission of a sale, and affiliates that reach more than 21 sales earn 125 percent commission of each sale, according to ProperHost.

“We have been offering an affiliate program for some time already, but now we are giving it a total revamp by increasing the affiliate commission payouts and adding new features to the program,” founder and CEO of ProperHost Sindre Moe said.

ProperHost also launched a new channel partner program for partners to resell its product line including Magento hosting, dedicated servers and SSL certificates. The company said that volume discounts apply once a minimum number of servers has been purchased.

Channel partners own the billing relationship with their clients, and are able to set their own margins.

“The new channel partner program enables companies to team up with ProperHost and resell our premium hosting services under their own brand. Our significant volume discounts present a great opportunity for web design agencies, developers and consultants that want to leverage our infrastructure and technology in order to get started in the hosting business or add hosting as a value-added service to their current offerings,” Moe said.

The hosting industry is competitive, and in order to attract channel partners and affiliates, hosting providers have to continually add features to their partner programs, whether that is through increasing commission payouts or offering a more user friendly client management interface.

Last week, TurnKey Internet launched its new cloud server reseller platform aimed at channel partners, IT service companies and cloud based service providers.
