Macquarie Offers Dedicated Solution
September 18, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Australian-based telecom and Web hosting provider Macquarie Hosting (macquarietelecom.com) announced on Thursday it has launched its dedicated managed virtualized hosting solution.
Macquarie Hosting says this is the first Australian dedicated managed virtualized solution that meets the stringent security, availability and redundancy demands of high-transactional online businesses and medium to large corporate and government organizations. Delivered out of Macquarie Hosting’s data center, the Intellicentre, the solution uses VMware software to distribute additional capacity and scalability on demand.
“We have customers that need scalability on demand. That means within hours, not the days that have previously been required for more complex hardware or service setup,” says Greg Thomson, group executive of hosting and security at Macquarie Telecom. “Virtualization services remove the time and cost barriers to peak projects. This new offering allows Macquarie Hosting to deliver business and government customers the performance, security and control of dedicated hosting services dynamically and at a lower cost.”
Macquarie Hosting says its dedicated managed virtualization offering is suited for customers with planned or on-demand hosting needs that require significant increases in capacity and resource consumption, for projects, testing, proof of concepts, migration scenarios and disaster recovery.
