Macquarie Joins VMware Program

June 13, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Macquarie Hosting (macquarietelecom.com/hosting) announced on Tuesday that it has joined a select group of global hosting providers in the new VMware Service Provider Program.

Under the program, Macquarie Hosting delivers virtualized hosting services through the VMware infrastructure to give customers the performance, security and control of dedicated hosting with on demand scalability at a lower cost, says the company. The latest service offering provides Macquarie Hosting customers with the option of either going physical or virtual with their online mission critical server infrastructure. Macquarie says it will also develop customized virtual infrastructure offerings to meet specific customer requirements.

“Macquarie Hosting’s managed server virtualization offering gives customers with high-availability, mission critical online applications the same level of proactive management, security and performance they expect from traditional hosted server environments,” says Aidan Tudehope, managing director hosting at Macquarie Telecom. “However, virtualization offers a range of additional benefits including superior levels of agility, scalability and business continuity. Backed by VMware’s infrastructure, Macquarie Hosting’s virtual server offering means we can now help organizations significantly reduce their hardware costs while ensuring they remain available and responsive to customers.”

Macquarie Hosting also recently launched its dedicated managed Exchange hosting solution.
