Macquarie Hosting Signs Deal with FBM
June 20, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — According to iTnews, Macquarie Hosting (mct.com.au/hosting) announced on Monday it has signed a deal to provide managed hosting services to Fairfax Business Media (fairfaxbr.com.au) for its new AFR Access product. Under the three-year contract worth $1 million AUD, Macquarie, along with project management company The Frame Group, plans to design a complex managed hosting solution within the six-week time frame requested by FBM. The solution will be hosted at Macquarie Telecom’s dedicated managed hosting facility, the Intellicentre, which is certified to AS/NZS 7799 and DSD Gateway security standards. Greg Thomson, group executive for hosting and security at Macquarie says the company will provide and manage the infrastructure from the network and servers including redundant firewalls and switches, redundant links to FBM, 18 HP servers with a mix of Red Hat Linux and Windows operating systems, load-balanced Web and clustered database servers. The AFR Access is an online service for investors across equities, commodities, property and managed funds, providing information and data services, search technology and portfolio management tools.
