Kerzner brings more than 11 years of experience managing critical facilities to his new post at DataSite Orlando.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Secure data center DataSite Orlando (www.datasiteorlando.com) has hired industry veteran Loren Kerzner as the 130,000 square-foot facility’s general manager, making him responsible for all facility operations and critical systems management, customer installations and operations support, as well as capital project management and security protocol adherence.
According to DataSite Orlando’s announcement, he will also oversee the facility’s continued $26 million investment in structural and technological upgrades.
“Loren’s extensive experience running world class critical facilities, combined with his strong leadership qualities, make him ideal for growing and expanding the DataSite brand,” said Jeff Burges, president and founder of Burges Property Company (www.burgesprop.com), which owns DataSite Orlando.
With an IT career spanning 28 years, Kerzner has more than 11 years of experience managing critical facilities, including points-of-presence, nodes, and data centers for AT&T and IBM Enterprises. His most recent post was as a senior data center manager for AT&T’s critical computing and research facilities throughout the US.
Kerzner graduated New York City’s Fordham University with a Bachelor’s of Science in accounting and a minor in finance.
Kerzner will be replacing Ken Sanders, who was appointed general manager in September 2008. Sanders has since left the company, according to DataSite Orlando.
