(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Enterprise hosting and cloud solutions provider Logicworks (www.logicworks.net) has launched a complete, cloud-based Payment Card Industry compliance solution that has just been awarded the highest level of PCI certification.

According to Logicworks’ Tuesday announcement, its new PCI compliance solution featuring integrated hardware, software and professional services, and enables customers to achieve complete PCI compliance in less time, and at lower cost than before.

It is critical for all companies accepting credit card payments to comply with PCI requirements, which cover 12 major categories, including encryption of credit-card data at the point-of-sale, during transmission to clearinghouses, and physical security of data centers where credit-card data are stored.

Its certification and solution addresses all 10 requirements that a service provider can handle on behalf of a customer, making it the first solution of its kind for the managed hosting and cloud computing industry, according to the company.

“We have leveraged our reputation for security, as well as our history and expertise working with sophisticated customers to assemble the most comprehensive PCI solution available,” Logicworks president and chief operating officer Kenneth Ziegler said in a statement. “This offering has the potential to transform compliance initiatives for mid-market retail, health-care and financial services customers, allowing them to jump ahead of evolving compliance standards – and their competition – virtually overnight.”

Logicworks’ Level 1 PCI accreditation applies to its entire network, hardware and security infrastructure, and will be renewed annually by Trustwave (www.trustwave.com), which performs thousands of PCI audits annually including half the Fortune 500. Logicworks has also teamed with Alert Logic (www.alertlogic.com) and Trustwave’s SpiderLabs (www.trustwave.com/spiderLabs) to perform independent network scanning and security penetration testing of its infrastructure on a quarterly basis.

Earlier this week, network security solutions provider StillSecure (www.stillsecure.com) introduced a PCI-certified managed security solution designed to help merchants and service providers comply with all managed PCI provisions. Known as “PCI Complete”, this solution will be available to customers in October through a partnership with colocation and managed services provider ViaWest (www.viawest.com).
