Managed hosting and cloud hosting provider Logicalis US announced on Wednesday it has launched a new infrastructure as a service cloud offering, the Logicalis On-Demand Cloud.
According to the press release, the Logicalis On-Demand Cloud is a “self-managed, multi-tenant public cloud infrastructure that provides the flexible compute resources, memory and storage necessary to complete projects such as test and development, proof of concept, training, bursting or other short-term needs.”
The new service is offered on a pay-as-you-go model, which means that customers do not have to invest in building and managing their own on-premises infrastructure.
The Locicalis On-Demand Cloud is complete with basic levels of self-management, infrastructure monitoring, provisioning, storage and security, offering a dynamic, yet reliable infrastructure to companies needing temporary compute resources.
The service enables companiesto take a natural evolutionary path to a production cloud environment as needed without having to make a long-term commitment.
The Logicalis On-Demand Cloud also gives companies that need to meet tight deadlines and keep up with changing business requirements and market conditions the speed-to-market and agility to do so.
“As part of Logicalis’ cloud portfolio of services, the Logicalis On-Demand Cloud minimizes the barriers to entry for companies that may be new to cloud computing,” said Kevin Gruneisen, senior director of data center solutions at Logicalis. “This approach lets users who are investigating a long-term production cloud environment to do so seamlessly when they’re ready through Logicalis’ Enterprise Cloud or dedicated cloud solutions.”
Gruneisen says Logicalis created its On-Demand Cloud service based on feedback from enterprise CIO clients who were looking for more cost-effective ways to use the cloud in on-demand ways without more significant commitments they were not yet prepared to make.
