LocaWeb Offers SWsoft Virtuozzo

March 1, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Brazilian Web hosting provider LocaWeb (locaweb.com) announced on Thursday it has launched virtual private server solutions using Virtuozzo from server automation and virtualization software provider SWsoft (swsoft.com).

Hosting services are rapidly become an integral part of Brazil’s emerging Internet economy. According to recent statistics, 30 million people in Brazil — 16 percent of the total population of 188 million — use the Internet.

“SWsoft is excited to partner with market leader LocaWeb to deliver the best VPS services to their customers, both large and small, in Latin America,” says Kurt Daniel, VP of marketing and alliances for SWsoft. “Virtuozzo provides a cost-efficient solution that will enable LocaWeb to deliver a greater variety of hosting services with minimal resources and cost, and take advantage of improved integration resulting from our ongoing open fusion initiative.”

Virtuozzo operating system virtualization software uses patented technology to create multiple, isolated virtual environments on a single physical server and operating system, making efficient use of hardware, software and other resources.
