Liquid Web Joins GlobalSign's SSL Partner Program

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web host and data center infrastructure provider Liquid Web (www.liquidweb.com) has joined GlobalSign’s (www.globalsign.com) Secure Sockets Layer partner program, allowing customers to purchase SSL Certificates in conjunction with their current web hosting solutions, providing a convenient way for customers to secure their websites.

According to GlobalSign’s Monday announcement, Liquid Web will be bundling GlobalSign SSL certificates with its existing hosting packages, enhancing its current offerings with reliable security. The partnership will enable Liquid Web to offer all three types of SSL Certificates, the fast issuance domain validation SSL, the organization validation SSL, and the newly standardized Extended Validation SSL, which activates the green address bar interface in IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari browsers.

Liquid Web chose to seek out an SSL provider that could offer cost effective and reliable SSL security solutions. “We chose GlobalSign based on reliability, cost and overall ROI,” Liquid Web marketing director Travis Stoliker said in a statement. “Our customers have increasing security concerns which prompted us to find a provider who could offer the most reliable and cost effective SSL security solution.”

GlobalSign marketing director Katsuo Chujo said more web hosts are receiving customer requests for additional security solutions as security concerns and compliance issues rise. “GlobalSign’s partner program allows web solution providers the ability to generate a new revenue stream from a competitive product line by offering a product their customers require and already buy from elsewhere,” Chujo said in a statement.

Liquid Web also plans on becoming a Platinum Partner to take advantage of deeper pricing discounts, enhanced product development and additional sales and marketing resources including a co-branded site seal, which would display both Liquid Web and GlobalSign’s logo helping inform web visitors of the security technology employed to protect website transactions.

Liquid Web currently offers three web hosting package levels; Standard, Webmaster, and Professional, all designed for clients who need bulletproof reliability and support at an affordable rate. Liquid Web chose to bundle together GlobalSign’s SSL Certificates into their Professional web hosting package which is the most robust out of the three.

Aside from offering strong SSL technology, a supportive and competitive partner program has helped GlobalSign compete in the SSL marketplace with Internet infrastructure services provider VeriSign (www.verisign.com), which recently issued its four millionth SSL certificate, and web host Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com), which continues to lead the market in SSL certificates sales.
