WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European telecommunications provider Linxtelecom (www.linxtelecom.com) announced on Thursday it has expanded its data center in Moscow.
This expansion increases the data center capacity with an additional 100 racks and five new disaster recovery offices.
5-th Module was built according to a unique modular concept and according to Tier 3+ standards, allowing for maximum reliability and safety, says the company.
“This new module was specifically designed to guarantee a higher level of availability, which is becoming increasingly important to some of our major customers,” says Erwin Sparreboom, vice president operations of Linxtelecom. “Module 5 is probably the most advanced data center in Moscow right now, offering a full 2N configuration with regards to power and cooling.”
To accomodate the increased amount of network traffic, the company also recently completed a diversely routed DWDM ring from its data center to M9. Both M9 and the company’s data center are major locations of Moscow’s Internet Exchange MSK-IX.
Though the ring is currently operating at 50Gbps it can be upgraded to 800Gbps as needed in the future.
The five newly expanded disaster recovery offices span a total space of 984 square feet.
These fully equipped and wired-up offices allow customers to accommodate their staff during emergency events so that operations can resume through customer’s back-up ICT infrastructure located in the modules.
