May 31, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Content delivery network operator Limelight Networks (limelightnetworks.com) announced on Thursday it has been selected as the exclusive provider of media streaming services for the US Soccer Federation.
US Soccer will use Limelight’s Live Windows Media Streaming service to provide global delivery of a wide range of video content, including select matches of the US men’s and women’s national teams, and US Soccer’s 11 youth national teams. It will also cover informative and entertaining soccer-related content such as live pre- and post-game coverage, press conferences and breaking news.
Viewers will be able to flexibly tune in to their programming via broadband Internet-connected devices, including PCs, handheld devices and IPTV set-top boxes. The Limelight platform’s LUX reporting facility provides US Soccer with the insight to measure and maximize the effectiveness of its Web content.
