Limelight Networks Names CEO
November 1, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Content delivery network Limelight Networks (limelightnetworks.com) announced on Tuesday it has named Jeffrey W. Lunsford CEO and chairman of the board of directors. Lunsford will join Limelight on November 20, replacing founding CEO Bill Rinehart, who will remain with the company as co-founder and continue to work with LimelightÂ’s customers and partners.
Lunsford joins Limelight from digital marketing and analytics firm WebSideStory, where he served as CEO and chairman. Lunsford led the company through a successful IPO, a strategic product expansion phase – including two acquisitions and 11 consecutive quarters of positive cash flow – and record financial results.Â
Prior to WebSideStory, Lunsford served as CEO of TogetherSoft and held senior positions at S1 Corporation and Brintech.
“Jeff is an outstanding executive with an established track record of leading Internet companies through rapid growth,” says Rinehart. “Our customers’ digital media businesses are growing at an accelerating pace as users increasingly look to the Internet as a key channel for interacting with media content. We look forward to working with Jeff to build further on Limelight’s current position as a leader in digital media services.”
