One of Liberty’s recent successes was the migration of the social networking portal, PlanitJewish.com (www.planitjewish.com), from San Jose, California to Liberty’s Michigan data center.
“Our servers were in a California data center for years but we were facing a 25 percent price increase and needed a more modern solution,” PlanitJewish.com chief executive officer Howard Brown said in a statement. “Moving to Liberty Center One helped us keep our hosting costs contained and their migration of our systems from California to Michigan went flawlessly with no downtime. We are pleased to have our systems and servers in a disaster-free location in a state-of-the-art data center plus we will save tens of thousands of dollars on our IT over the coming years thanks to Liberty Center One.”
Liberty Center One president and CEO Rex Smith said the PlanitJewish.com migration was one of a number of interesting challenges, with many of them coming in from out of state. “We’ve moved clients from Florida, Texas, Nevada, California, Virginia and Canada with as few as a single u server to multiple racks of servers,” Smith said in a statement. “Michigan is a great environment for data centers as we have few if any natural disasters and an abundance of IT talent. We are pleased to do our part as a magnet for high-tech business to move to our state.”
