Lexent Adds POP at NYC Connect

March 7, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Fiber networks operator Lexent Metro Connect (lexent.net) announced on Tuesday it has selected privately owned NYC Connect’s (nyc-connect.com) interconnection facility as the site of its new network point of presence.

The new node is located at 111 Eighth Avenue, which NYC Connect says is widely acknowledged as New York City’s premier technology hub. The new network POP enables Lexent to quickly deliver its full and fractional dark fiber offerings to more than 100 network providers.

“Lexent Metro Connect brings with it a wide range of dark fiber pathways that will positively enhance end-user results within the meet-me room,” says Tesh Durvasula, NYCC’s COO. “We welcome them to the NYCC community and wish them continued success.”

LMC fiber connects major carrier hotels, central offices and enterprise buildings with diverse optical-fiber pathways, enabling private and public network operators to deploy network technologies such as DWDM, CWDM, Metro Ethernet and advanced SONET systems in ring and meshed topologies.
