December 6, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Chelsea Football Club (chelseafc.com) in conjunction with telecommunications provider Level 3 (level3.com) announced on Wednesday that it has launched Chelsea Plus (tv.chelseafc.com), a new portal that contains news on the club, training ground reports and live commentary and build-up on match days.
Chelsea Plus also includes a Bluetube section where fans will be able to upload videos of themselves singing their favorite Chelsea song or cheering on the team to the site. ChelseaFC says this represents the first time a European club has offered supporters the opportunity to interact with a clubs online video product in this way.
Casimir Knight, the managing director at Chelsea Digital Media says that the launch of Chelsea Plus demonstrates the club’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality, forward-thinking digital media content to its supporters and the organization is pleased with its partnership with Level 3.
Subscription is available on an annual or monthly basis and fans are given eight channels to choose from.
Last month, Level 3′s president and COO Kevin O’Hara made an investor presentation at the Credit Suisse 2007 Annual Technology Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.
