(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet service provider Level 3 Communications (www.level3.com) announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its relationship with data center solutions provider i/o Data Centers (www.iodatacenters.com).
The announcement follows i/o Data Centers’ recent news that it introduced two patents pending for technology for its 538,000 square-foot Phoenix ONE data center, which opened last month.
In this expanded agreement, Level 3 will continue to provide private line and Ethernet-based high-speed Internet services to i/o Data Centers’ Scottsdale ONE colocation facility.
Level 3 will also install a fiber connection to the new Phoenix ONE facility, over which it will deliver the same high-speed services.
Using Level 3′s network, i/o Data Center is able to deliver to its customers network connectivity up to 10 Gbps, which is supported by Level 3 service level agreements.
The direct connection of i/o Data Centers’ colocation customers will also prevent backhaul charges that are typically paid to the service provider and increase the cost-effectiveness of network solutions provided by Level 3.
“Level 3′s highly scalable network has made them one of our ideal providers as our customers’ bandwidth demands continue to grow,” says Anthony Wanger, io Data Centers’ president and founder. “Our customers are looking for reliability and performance and Level 3 is helping us deliver just that.”
i/o Data Centers provides enterprise colocation and data center solutions including colocation cabinets, colocation cages, data center suites and containerized data center solutions.
