Lee Technologies Staffs DRT Facilities

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Mission-critical infrastructure and disaster recovery solutions provider Lee Technologies (www.leetechnologies.com) today announced it has been selected by wholesale data center provider Digital Realty Trust (www.digitalrealtytrust.com) to oversee facility operations at 10 of its US data centers, supporting the mission-critical needs of data centers in Phoenix, Chicago, St. Louis, Dallas and Houston.

After positive experiences staffing European DRT facilities, according to Lee Technologies’ announcement, the company assembled a team of 35 seasoned facility technicians in a month’s time to operate, maintain and monitor the mission-critical environments at DRT’s 10 data centers, meeting the staffing requirements by the effective start date of April 1, 2009.

“Lee Technologies quickly demonstrated its mission-critical expertise after successfully providing facility operations at our Paris and Dublin data centers, and we have full confidence they will deliver the same level of performance across these US multi-tenant facilities,” DRT senior vice president Chris Crosby said in a statement. “The addition of Lee Technologies’ facility technicians to 10 of our primary mission-critical, multi-tenant facilities will enable us to continue to deliver a ‘five nines’ level of reliability in our ‘Turn-Key Datacenter’ facilities as we have for the past four years.”

Headquartered at its state-of-the-art national operations center in Washington, DC, Lee Technologies has offices in Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Dublin, and provides operations, maintenance and mission-critical facility on-site staffing services to more than 700 locations.

After predicting three years ago that the talent pool of “qualified senior level technical and management data center professionals” would contract 45 percent by 2015, AFCOM Data Center Institute recently updated its report by indicating that the global economic downturn has led to the talent pool drying up even more quickly. This trend, according to Lee Technologies, has made its services even more valuable.

Lee Technologies national sales senior vice president Mike Hagan said his company helps match facility operations expertise with leading facility providers to meet a broad range of mission-critical requirements. “Digital Realty Trust has earned an unmatched reputation among its corporate customers for reliability and efficiency across its global properties, and we are honored to have been selected for this project,” Hagan said in a statement.
