(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain registration and web hosting company LCN.com (www.lcn.com) has launched a state-of-the-art email security and protection system called MailGuard, which will be added to all new LCN.com hosting packages at no extra cost.
According to LCN’s Wednesday announcement, customers can access and customize their spam threshold settings and apply advanced permissions from within their account control panel, significantly reducing spam and eliminating potential viruses from reaching their inbox.
“Unlike companies which are charging a high annual subscription for lesser email protection systems, we have decided to offer this product for free on our web hosting packages,” LCN.com managing director Mark Boost said in a statement. “By listening to our customers’ feedback and requests we have attempted to give them the tools to grow their businesses with LCN.com more productively than ever before.”
According to some estimates, more than 97 percent of emails sent are unsolicited or junk email, leading to huge amounts of time wasted by individuals clearing unwanted and irrelevant messages out of their inbox every day.
“Email spam is a frustrating and distracting occurrence that has a considerable impact on productivity within the office,” Boost said. “MailGuard vastly reduces the amount of spam you receive, letting you focus your attention on the emails you want, and giving you back the time you used to spend sorting through spam yourself.
MailGuard scans all incoming email sent to a users account, quarantining emails that have been identified as spam or could contain viruses in a for 30 days. Users can access and view captured emails through a secure area online. Emails which have not been flagged as spam or containing any potential viruses are passed directly to the users account.
